1. According to the production process, it can be divided into:

Seamless steel pipe: produced by hot rolling or cold rolling (drawing) process, with high strength and pressure resistance. They are generally used for fluid transport pipes, boiler pipes, petroleum cracking pipes, etc.
Seamless steel pipes are divided into hot-rolled seamless steel pipes and cold-drawn (rolled) seamless steel pipes due to their different manufacturing processes.
The outer diameter of the hot-rolled seamless steel pipe is generally larger than 32mm, and the wall thickness is 2.5-75mm. The outer diameter of the cold-rolled seamless pipe can reach 6mm, the wall thickness can reach 0.25mm, the outer diameter of the thin-walled pipe can reach 5mm, the wall thickness is less than 0.25mm, and cold rolling has higher dimensional accuracy than hot rolling.

Welded Steel Tube: It is made by bending steel plate or steel strip and then welding, including straight welded steel pipe, spiral welded steel pipe, high-frequency welded steel pipe, etc.
Among them, the strength of spiral welded pipe is generally higher than that of straight welded pipe. It can produce welded pipes of larger diameters with narrower billets, and welded pipes of different diameters can be produced with billets of the same width. However, compared with straight seam welded pipe of the same length, the welding length increases by 30~100%, and the production speed is lower. Therefore, smaller-diameter welded pipes mainly use straight seam welding, and large-diameter welded pipes mainly use spiral welding.

The material of carbon steel pipe mainly depends on its carbon content and whether it contains other alloying elements. Common carbon steel pipe materials include:

  • Low carbon steel: such as Q195, Q215, Q235, etc., with good ductility and toughness, suitable for general-purpose low-pressure fluid transportation, machinery manufacturing and other fields.
  • Medium carbon steel: such as 45# steel, 40Cr, etc., with high strength and hardness, suitable for manufacturing machinery parts, engineering structures and other fields.
  • High carbon steel: such as 65Mn, T8, T10, etc., with extremely high hardness and strength, but low toughness and plasticity, suitable for manufacturing parts requiring wear resistance and high hardness, such as knives, molds, etc.
  • Alloy steel: such as 16Mn alloy steel pipe, is a low-alloy high-strength structural steel pipe with high yield strength and tensile strength, good wear resistance, suitable for engineering structures subjected to large pressure and impact loads.
