2A12 Aluminum Bar

2A12 aluminum bar, also known as high-strength duralumin, is a typical duralumin alloy in the AL-Cu-Mg system and can be strengthened by heat treatment. At the same time, its composition is relatively reasonable and its overall performance is good. It is a hard aluminum material produced in many countries, and its usage is the largest among hard aluminum. It has certain heat resistance and can be used as working parts below 150°C. Widely used in aircraft structures, rivets, truck wheels, propeller components and other structural parts. However, caution is required when using gas and TIG welding because of its tendency to form intergranular cracks. This alloy has good machinability after cold work hardening, but its corrosion resistance is not high, so anodizing and painting methods are usually required to improve its corrosion resistance.
