2A12 aluminum sheet has the following characteristics:

• High strength and hardness, low corrosion resistance.
• It can be strengthened by heat treatment and has medium plasticity in the annealed and freshly quenched states.
• Spot welding has good weldability, but there is a tendency to form intergranular cracks when using gas welding and argon arc welding.
• The machinability is good after quenching and cold work hardening, but the machinability is low after annealing.
• Anodizing and painting methods are often used, or an aluminum layer is added to the surface to improve corrosion resistance.

The uses of 2A12 aluminum plate are as follows:

• It is used for various high-load parts and components (but not including stampings and forgings), such as aircraft skeleton parts, skins, bulkheads, wing ribs, wing spars, rivets and other parts that work below 150°C.
• Used to manufacture forgings and die forgings with medium strength, high plasticity and good heat resistance, such as various impellers, wind guides, joints, door and window frames, etc.
