Grade 316 stainless steel channel is a “C” shaped bar used in fabrication and construction applications for making frames or racks. Because it looks like the letter C, it is sometimes called a “C” channel. Grade 316 stainless steel channels are typically used in highly corrosive or marine environments and have a wide range of applications. 316 stainless steel channels are available in limited sizes and thicknesses.
Most Grade 316 stainless steel channels will be hot mill finished, which is a relatively low-tolerance rough-finished bar with a rough, sometimes pitted surface. Can be used as a substitute for low carbon steel channels, but with greatly improved anti-corrosion properties. It has the characteristics of good corrosion resistance, high strength, high temperature resistance and easy processing.
