Oxygen-free copper has relatively low levels of oxygen and magnesium. It is a high-quality copper material that is produced by direct conversion of selected refined cathodes and castings under carefully controlled anaerobic conditions to prevent any contamination of the pure oxygen-free metal during processing. It has the characteristics of high purity, no oxidation, excellent mechanical properties and processing properties, and is mainly used in electric vacuum devices, such as waveguides, vacuum tubes, superconducting substrates, etc.
Common brands of oxygen-free copper include C10200, C10300, etc. Among them, C10200 copper is also called OFHC copper (high conductivity copper). Its oxygen content is less than 0.001%. It has excellent electrical and thermal conductivity and is widely used in industries such as electronic devices and cable manufacturing. C10300, also known as OFE copper (super high conductive copper), has a lower oxygen content of only 0.0005%, so it has higher electrical conductivity and better mechanical strength, and is often used to manufacture high-precision electronic devices.
